Elizabeth Arden's Eight Hour Cream* is by no means a new release, having been created in 1930. It's a product I've never added to my collection, that is until now.

If like me, you've been living under a rock all your beauty life the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream* is Skin Protectant which seems to have endless uses. From soothing sun burn, healing cuts and bruises and caring for dry and damaged skin, It would appear this cream (which is actually more of a thick gel formula) does it all.

Over the past few weeks of dabbling with this cream I've found my favourite use for it - an intensive night mask. When my skin is feeling low, i'm breaking out, dehydrated or just generally going through a rough patch facially i've found that wearing a layer of eight hour cream overnight does wonders for my skin and in the morning I not only feel refreshed, but look it too! After waking up in the morning, any redness from problem areas seemed to have disappeared, 'under the skin' breakouts seemed to have shrunk and my skin feels a lot happier and healthier.

My basic step by step of applying the cream is to squeeze out a small amount (pictured) onto my hand. I then warm the cream up by rubbing it between my finger tips before applying a layer over my face and if there's any left, I bring it down onto my neck too.Now the cream will feel like it's sitting on your skin and won't sink in straight away, but when you just go with it.. it works.

I can't write a post on the Eight Hour Cream* without giving you a heads up on the infamous scent of this product... a lot of people have issues with it and are terribly offended by the scent which is almost medial like. However, I have no qualms with it, nor does it bother me - in fact, as i've been using it as a weekly night mask i'm beginning to associate the scent with sleep!

I've gotten on really well with using the Eight Hour Cream as a 'once a week' Night Mask and i'm looking forward to finding more uses for it in the future!

  1. I've never used this either so clearly I've been living under a rock too but I never realized it was that colour! Looks a bit off-putting but must be good seen as so many people rave about it.

  2. This is something I've been meaning to pick up as well, but it's always sold out at my pharmacy! I actually haven't heard anything about the smell before, but I'm definitely curious now.

  6. I picked this up in the Factory Shop (don't ask) and I was so smug as its such a classic that just can't be beaten. Although the colour did scare me a tad!

  9. I've never tried it as an intensive night mask but that sounds like a great use for it. Personally I love it as a lip balm, especially over the colder months I find it really soothing. Xx
