If you're looking for a deep matte lipstick, then the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet* Lipstick in Grand Cru might just be the product for you!
I have to say that I love how easy these lipsticks are the apply. They go on like a gloss and dry to a beautiful matte shade which isn't drying, but actually does feel like velvet on your lips. However, I would recommend the use of a lip liner to be worn with this shade to make sure you get a sharp edge around your lips as I did find it hard to get a clean line as the product is so dark against my pale skin.

The Grand Cru is a new addition to the Rouge Velvet Line, and it's deep tones make for a perfect date night lipstick. I think this shade would look gorgeous with a sleek ponytail and a little black dress.

I look forward to experimenting with it and seeing what looks I can create with it!
Where would you wear this shade? Let me know in the comments.

Learning to Love Colour #3

As a 'Pale Kid' there's nothing that frightens me more than colour. If you've seen my previous posts Learning to Love Colour & A Bold & Gold Make Up Look then you may have seen the start of my little exploration into embracing pale skin and bright make up and my feeble attempts to not wear a 'boring' nude lipstick and a black wing every day...

I recently picked up the Urban Decay Electric Palette and after just staring at it for what seemed like ages, I finally picked up the courage to give it a shot. I admit, as soon as I put the first colour on my eyes, I thought 'what have I done?' However, I stuck with it and created this look. I don't think I've ever worn such bright colours before, and I certainly don't have the courage just yet to wear it outside on a daily basis... but i'm learning, experimenting and trying new things. That's all that matters... I hope.

Here's the Product list of what I'm wearing

Eyelashes: Eylure Texture 154

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this look! Let me know what you think in the comments!

I often get asked about my favourite lipsticks, which products I'm currently wearing and what products work for pale skin... If you're a long time reader of My Pale Skin then you'll know about my love nude and pink lipsticks, as they're part of my staple every day look.

I find myself constantly reaching for the same products and I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you the ones I've been obsessed with over the past few months.

I love this peachy coral shade and how it can lift and brighten a look in an instant. I've been wearing this shade so much over the summer and i'm almost convinced I can still make it work in the winter... I love how easy these are to apply and how effortlessly cool they look on.

This is the first NYX lipstick I ever purchased and It's my go to shade for when I need a make up look to carry me from day to night. I love this Rosy shade like to really go for a full matte look when wearing it. The NYX matte lipsticks have a great formula that apply really easily without tugging and don't feel overly drying on the lips either. This Tea Rose colour compliments pale skin so well. I love it.

Possibly the best nude lipstick i've tried in a long time. Bourjois have the Shine Edition Nude lipstick nailed. This shade is actually the perfect pale skin 'my lips but better' shade and to top it off this range has a great formula which is made up from 1/4 gloss!

I randomly bought the B. Rich Intense Colour Lipstick quite a while back. It was my first and also only purchase so far from this brand. I love this natural peach shade. It has a beautiful satin finish and adds a touch of glamour and elegance to an every day look.

Now you might be wondering why I have two lipsticks which look remarkably similar in my top 5. I Have to say, that having never compared Mac Pink Plaid and NYX Tea Rose side by side before, I can't say I ever noticed. Mac Pink Plaid was the first Mac lipstick I ever purchased and I'm so in love with this shade. It's a slightly lighter shade than the Tea Rose, less deep and wears slightly more pink. If I had to choose just one lipstick for here on in - this would be it.

I love these shades, and If you have any recommendations for others based on these favourites - do let me know in the comments.  I'd love to hear which shade from my Top 5 is your favourite!

My Beauty Haul From The London Summer Blogger Meet up

On Saturday I headed to Dirty Martini Bar in Covent Garden, London to attend a Summer Blogger meet up which had been organised by the lovely Clare from The Love Of All Things Beauty. I often forget how lucky I am that living in Central London means I can get to Covent Garden in around 10 minutes or so - especially on a busy Saturday in the summer holidays. The plan for the day was some relaxing cocktails, (or non alcoholic cocktails for me) followed by an afternoon of beauty shopping!

Clare had arranged for everyone who was attending to each make up a goody bag to the value of £10 for us to swap with each other in a random draw.

I picked out number 3 which had been made by the beautiful Sarah from And Beauty Or Something and funnily enough she randomly drew the goody bag I had created. Here's what I had in my wonderful goody bag!

I couldn't have been happier with the products Sarah had chosen. I received the Make Up Revolution Blush & Contour Palette as well as the Salvation What You Waiting For? Palette. I'd been eyeing up the blush palette for a while and I'm so excited to play with these shades, so check back soon for my full review and looks created using them.

After the goody bags and chatter it was on to the shopping. We had a full day planned, and the first stop was MAC.

I did it. I caved and I finally joined the '90s Kylie Jenner Lipstick club. I picked up the Beautiful Velvet Teddy Lipstick and Whirl Lip Liner from Mac. I'm not sure if these shades will suit me yet as they're such warm tones. I usually steer clear of anything that can make my teeth appear yellow as I find warm tones tend to do so, and until I get my teeth whitened, I'm not sure my confidence will hold up to it. But we'll give it a shot, and if my lipstick looks good, I can go without talking or opening my mouth the whole time I wear it... right?

From Space NK I picked up the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Chantilly which was on my August Beauty Wishlist and I can't wait to put this to the pale test and see how it compares to the the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer i've been using as of late.

We also headed to the amazing Marc Jacobs Pop up Tweet Boutique in Covent Garden where you can use tweets as currency and pick up a sample of the the famous Daisy Perfume!

The beautiful Zoe from Zoe London was on the decks and in store to meet and greet bloggers and shoppers alike, and even though I didn't get a chance to say Hi to her, I made sure to get into stealth mode and snap a picture.

I loved that the Daisy Sample even comes in a mini Daisy bottle. This is a fragrance I've drifted in and out of wearing over the past few years and needless to say It'll be my go to perfume for the next few weeks.
I had an amazing day and got to hang out and spend time with some lovely bloggers, new and old friends alike. I love blogger meet ups and the chance to go shopping with some like minded ladies was badly needed. I'm looking forward to using some of these amazing new products and I'll be sharing my new looks and thoughts with you soon!

I'd love to hear your thoughts on what your top pick from this haul is. Let me know in the comments.
