After months of not wearing any, I've finally fallen back in love with false eyelashes. I recently picked up the Eylure Texture 154 eyelashes on a spur of the moment trip to Superdrug.

As a bleach blonde with hooded eyelids, one of the problems I face when it comes to lashes is finding some which are bold enough to make a statement, but don't swamp my face and make me look ridiculous.

What attracted to to these lashes were how wispy they looked and that they were ever so gently clumped out along the join which makes them a lot more realistic looking.  One of my personal pet hates for false eyelashes on myself is just just a see of  row of black black across my eyelids. When you have fairer skin, they stand out more, so it's best to go for lighter lashes.

On first use, i'm loving these lashes, and I think they may be popping up in various looks on the blog in the future.

What are your favourite eyelashes?? Let me know in the comments!

Perfect Eyelashes by Agnes Dos Santos* Review!

Sunday, 6 April 2014

This week I've been trying out Perfect Eyelashes by Agnes Dos Santos*.  Perfect Eyelashes* are a range of 'Luxurious' eyelashes available in 4 different types. I chose the Glam & Natural lashes from the range to try, test and play with.

On first impressions, these Perfect Eyelashes* are some of the most realistic looking strip lashes I've ever seen. They have a nice natural curl and each eyelash is super fine. They don't have the regimented look that drugstore lashes seem to have, that sort of fake and factory produced look. These lashes are hand made and 'delicately crafted' and honestly it shows.

Perfect Eyelashes by Agnes Dos Santos - Glam Lashes*. ' A full but natural Lash'. (As worn in images above) These lashes did require some trimming before they could be worn as they were too wide for my eyes. I wouldn't say that these are suitable for day wear, as they're quite full, however for an evening look they're perfect and finish off a look perfectly.

Perfect Eyelashes by Agnes Dos Santos - Natural Lashes*  'A delicate strip lash which simply adds a bit of volume to your own lashes'.  If you want a more voluminous lash, but without the extra length and something you can wear without question at work or during the day, this is the lash for you. The Natural Lashes blended in so easily with my real eyelashes I couldn't tell which were real and which were fake! These are perfect for that extra confidence booster, without the self consciousness of worrying if your lashes are too obvious at work!

However, despite all the positive aspects that come with these lashes, there's also a negative that i'm still not sure how I feel about. The lashes are made from Mink hair. Yep. Mink Hair. Now your thoughts on that simple fact will affect how you feel on if these lashes are for you. I'm not 100% sure I feel great about that to be honest. The lashes are beautiful and are the most natural looking lashes I've ever worn, but on a personal basis I can't say I'm comfortable with the Mink factor. However, you don't mind then that doesn't matter!

Retraction: This article previously stated that I felt uncomfortable with these 'Mink' lashes being made from Mink fur. Although the Perfect Eyelashes website mentions a couple of times that the strip lashes are said to be 'Real Mink'. I have received the following new information from the PR company -

'Just wanted to get in touch and let you know that the strip lashes are made from human hair which is ethically sourced and cleaned from a hairdressing salon. Agnes never uses real mink fur in her lashes and only uses a silk alternative which is called ‘mink’ I had to check with her as I also don’t agree with mink fur being used!'

I'd love to hear your thoughts on these lashes and if you've tried them. Let me know in the comments. xx

Sleek 'Supermodel style' Chic!

Sunday, 16 March 2014

I love nude make up. There's something about it which just makes me feel oh so sophisticated.

For this look, I gave my Katy Perry Oh Honey! lashes a second chance. I stopped being lazy and cut them down to size. I teamed them with a my B. Dollhouse nude lipstick, and a sleek blow dry to try and get that supermodel chic vibe. Sometimes big hair isn't always the way to go and i'm doing my best to improve my blow drying skills. Most days I just rough dry it and be on my way, as I find it hard to get the level of volume, bounce and shine perfect without using rollers.

I'd love to hear your blow drying tips! Post them in the comments xx

Searching for the perfect pair of false eyelashes. #1

False eyelashes, katie perry oh honey

I love false lashes. Love them. They can transform a look in seconds and add that extra bit of oomph right where you need it. I find it hard to chose the right lashes that don't swamp my hooded eyes, and make me look quite frankly ridiculous. There are so so many brands of lashes that are popping up constantly! All different types, styles and even materials.

I find it hard to get the right lashes for my face with my pale skin, bleach blonde hair and blue eyes.

I'm after a pair of HG lashes that don't break the bank & don't look like slugs on my face.

Today i'm trying out the Katie Perry, Oh Honey! Lashes.

£5.95

I chose these because they had a full natural look without appearing too heavy and dark for my face.

I applied the lashes with the glue supplied in the box. My first thought after putting them on was.. ermm... maybe I should have trimmed them down. They're a little bit too wide for my eyes. I think if I had trimmed maybe 2/3 ml off they would fit better and look plenty more natural.

What I like about these is that they have that floaty wispie vibe I love going on. They feel light to wear and certainly aren't weighing my eyes down.

What I don't like is, they are far too wide. I'm lazy, I don't really have much patience for cutting down lashes, and I always get them wrong. They never look even and I end up getting them muddled up with which chopped lash goes on which eye and having to take them off again. I also don't like the length of the lashes in the inside corner of the eye. These just don't seem right, as the inner corner lashes are too long for my pea sized eyes.

My final verdict for these lashes is a simple, meh. They're just okay. Nothing sensational, not life changing in the slightest and i'm certainly not going to run out and buy 20x pairs of them. However, if I wanted to dress up a little and glam up without having to buy lashes? I'd probably wear grab my Katie Perry Oh Honey! lashes from the drawer and wear them.

I'd love to hear what your favourite lashes are to wear, so let me know in the comments!
