#CosmoCareers - Cosmo Super Blogger Masterclass!

I love blogging, and I love learning new things, so It made perfect sense for me to attend the Cosmopolitan Super Blogger Masterclass in the hopes of picking up a few handy tips from some of the top bloggers out there.  The event took place at The Millbank Media Centre in London and the panel was made up of industry experts, including Fleuer De Force and Kat from Rock N Roll Bride. 

As usual, with my lack of 'how to friend' skills, I didn't actually speak to any bloggers at the event... It's not that I didn't want to, it's that I just didn't know where to begin or even how to approach someone I didn't know. That's something i'm working on currently, and I'm hoping at the next event i'll be able to approach someone I don't know and strike up a conversation.

If you watched my 'What's in my bag?!' video then you may have seen a brief glimpse of my notebook which contained all my scribbles from the event. I wanted to share some of the top blogger tips and quotes from the event in the hope that maybe they can help and inspire you too!

I really enjoyed the event, and I felt like it affirmed things I thought I knew and helped me understand how to move forward with my blog. I certainly felt positive coming out of it and had a clear mindset of things I wanted to achieve or change to make my blog the best it can be.

Bourjois Nail Polish Remover, Hands & Feet Review!

I admit it. I'm a rubbish girl. My bag is full of junk and my nail polish is often chipped. So when a product such as the Bourjois Nail Polish remover for Hands & Feet* comes along, I feel like I know 'how to girl' again. 

When you live a busy life, or what I usually refer to as 'lack of life' constantly trying to juggle working a full time job as well as blogging consistently, managing your social media profiles and giving the time and effort deserved to those all important offline relationships with a boyfriend, family and if you have many left, friends -  one of the first things that can slack for me anyway, are my nails. 

I go through stages of painting my nails multiple times a week, to not wearing polish for months simply because of the chips that occur so easily and out of my sheer laziness, the effort that it takes to remove the polish as well as the slightly fragile nails that I find nail varnish remover leaves behind.

Bourjois have introduced a product that relieves so many of the factors that makes me loathe painted nails sometimes. The main bottle is filled with a sponge that you can dip your finger into. I like to use the erm, dip and twist method. That usually works for me and takes my nail varnish off so easily. However, they've also introduced the much needed Foot sponge! A small sponge fixed to the lid of the product which can be used as a handy sponge to remove any pedi polish and also stops you trying to shove your toes into the main pot... yeah, don't do that... It hurts.

The Bourois Nail Polish Remover* is one of those unexpected great products that actually works incredibly well. It doesn't have that nasty nail polish smell, and it doesn't make my nails feel like they've been soaked in paint stripper and brittle. It's a new firm favourite and because of it, I can look forward to painting my nails again.

The London Blogger Dinner - Hosted by My Pale Skin! #LDNbloggerDinner

If you follow me on twitter, i'm sure you'll often hear about how I find it hard to meet new people and make new friends. Especially when I can be too nervous to speak to or approach new people at events. I've taken a huge leap out of my comfort zone and decided to create a monthly social, and an event which is what I like to call - 'twitter chats in real life'.

I'm not afraid to admit, that as a 20 something girl, I can often find myself scrolling through my phone book and not having many friends to call upon for days out, shopping trips or dinner. I have numerous interests and hobbies, and really wanted to spend some quality time with  like minded ladies, but I found that most blogging events I'd attended were 95% all about the brand, and left little time for social interaction with other bloggers, or really difficult to interact in a non 'I have no idea how to friend' kind of way. 

I actively take part in twitter chats and discussions, and actually really look forward to a lot of them each week, I wanted to emulate those chats, but offline. So by cutting out the PR companies, brand spiel and loud music, and bringing a group of bloggers together around a table with some good food and interesting topics seemed the best way to go about that.

I booked a table for 16 people, around 2-3 weeks ago, and hoped people would turn up. Well, almost prayed they would turn up. I had no idea if anyone actually would and I was so so relieved when I got to Pizza Express last night and people were there!! I wasn't that girl sat at a massive table all by myself waiting for people who were never going to show! 9 of us in total made it to the very first Blogger Dinner, and In all honesty, it was one of the best nights out i'd had in a very long time.  

The food was great, as usual for Pizza Express! I had a Gluten Free Caprina Rossa Hack. - Minus the onions, garlic and pesto and add red peppers and Balsamic Syrup on the side, (to drizzle over the pizza.) I also had dessert... but let's just forget that glorious sundae ever happened.

What I loved about the event the most, was the fact that everyone had a chance to ask each other questions in an environment where nobody was judgmental. It was probably some of the most honest and warm conversations I'd ever had with other bloggers, on everything from blog names to page views, twitter to product samples. We had the chance to ask each other and hear honest thoughts on so many different topics and I loved the fact that nobody had a front up. It was just an evening of new friendships, good food and good chat. A perfect mid week meal and I even got to wear my flower crown out of the house in a shameless taxi selfie! Hurrah.

Elf Baked Blush - Peachy Cheeky Review!

Those of you who read my blog know that i'm a big lover of Elf Cosmetics and many of their products feature on My Pale Skin quite often. What You don't know, is that the Elf Cosmetics Baked Blush in Peachy Cheeky may just be one of my favourite Elf products of all time. 

Baked blushes were new to me up until this year, and I didn't actually own many blushes total. I recently wore this blusher in my Summer Pale Dewy Make Up Tutorial video and I have also been wearing it everyday since. Peachy Cheeky is gorgeous natural peach shade that compliments Pale Skin perfectly. I find that it  gives a good natural colour payoff without seeming chalky or over the top, yet has just the right level of shimmer to make a statement which makes it perfect for an everyday office look. However you can still build this up to create a stunning evening cheek.

On a negative side, I wish that it had a bit more staying power. I do find that by the time I get home from work it has mostly worn off, however to be fair, I don't know of many blushers that will last a full day 10 hour working day without some serious prep and setting spray.

Overall, I think the price of £3.95 - or less if you can grab one in the Elf sale, makes this an absolute must have product, and if you can, I recommend you grab one before they sell out!
