I get asked on an almost daily basis which foundations and concealers are the best for pale skin tones, and this series is going to explore all different types of  products from varying brands and at all price levels which will hopefully help you to make a decision on which foundation and concealer is right for you!

In universal skin tone terms.. I'm an NC15 in Mac. However, Mac isn't really doing it for me at the moment, so i'm on the hunt for a replacement that will be the perfect foundation for My Pale Skin.

Product: Make Up Revolution Ultra Cover & Conceal Palette - Light

Price: £6.00 for 8 shades

Packaging:  The Make Up Revolution Ultra Cover & Conceal Palette comes in a large plastic palette with a full size lid mirror built in.

Coverage: I'd say that the product gives a light- medium coverage.

Colour:  There are eight varying shades in the palette from an almost white shade to a dark sand.

Finish:  I found the finish of these concealers to be quite dewy on the skin and in need of setting as they seemed fairly 'creamy' aka slippery.

Final Verdict: I can't remember the last time I seriously wished a product to be good until I bought this palette. It was all going so well... until the swatches. Out of 8 shades, personally I'd only use two shades. Number 1 and Number 5.
Unfortunately the majority of the remainder shades are more on the beige and sand spectrum which are far too warm for my NC15 skin.
By using shades 1 and 5, it's possible to brighten the under eye area and cover any blemishes.
In terms of contouring with the darker shades, as they are very warm, I'd recommend that you be wary of these shades if you aren't using them in daylight, as yo may get a few surprises. Sadly, as only 2/8 shades are suitable... the Make Up Revolution Conceal & Contour Palette - Light has FAILED the pale test.

As Always, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this concealer or what you'd like me to try next, let me know in the comments.

  1. These are quite good coverage and you can't really complain for £6 but they weren't good for my oily under-eye area, and I could've done with taking the darker half of 'medium' and the lighter half of 'dark'. But still I guess you still have 2 shades you can use and maybe some of the others would be more useful over summer or something x

  2. I think that's the problem with concealer/base palettes - either most f the shades won't suit you, or all the colours will be the same and it's pointless to buy a palette. I normally go for liquids anyway! x

  3. I'm not extremely pale but I do love reading your posts, I think they do try and cater for different undertones unfortunately. Could still be good for contouring and highlighting maybe? But at £6.00 at least you didn't waste a bunch of money!

  4. I really love concealer palettes in terms of versatility. As they are a lighter coverage I can imagine these being great for highlighting!

  6. I can't believe that for a light palette a lot of the shades are quite dark? It's so hard to find concealers and foundations that are suitable for pale skin, and we all know that on the other end of the spectrum, darker skinned girls have it just as bad! I wish that drugstore brands would almost see that there's a huge gap in the market for it.
