La Roche-Posay

I admit, when it comes to hot weather – I fail miserably. I've been travelling more and more recently, and during a trip to LA, I got to experience the hottest weather I've ever been subjected to.
There were a few things I learnt during that trip to LA. One thing being to never travel to a warm climate without a deep conditioning hair mask & hair oil. The second being that a good SPF is absolutely vital.

The La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Dry Touch cream is one of my favourite SPF products. I love how easy it is to use – with a small amount being all you need to cover your whole face. It's light on the skin and blends out beautifully without leaving a greasy texture behind. This has certainly been a skin saviour for me in recent months, and It's one of the first items I reach for come morning time.

For quick summer morning skin prep, the La Roche-Posay Micellar water (which I previously spoke about here) is a winner – especially come morning time. It's packed with micells to help remove dirt & pollution from your skin. It feels soothing oand a quick swipe over your face with a cotton pad in the AM is often all you need before you're ready for makeup application.

For those on the go, the brand new La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo [+] Unifiant could be the saviour you’ve been looking for. Ideal for post gym makeup application or if you're having a no makeup day. It's the same formula as the Effaclar Duo [+] that helps to fight against acne-prone skin this time with a hint of a tint to unify the tone of blemishes while working to reduce their size and redness whilst unclogging pores at the same time. Ideal for those days when you have no desire to apply makeup but would also like a little coverage, Alternatively, if full coverage is your thing – you can also wear it under foundation as a primer to get the best of both worlds!

Skin Analysis & Drugstore Skincare – Advertorial

Sunday, 17 April 2016

Over the past couple of years my knowledge of beauty and skincare has expanded further than I ever thought it would. My skin was relatively clear as a teenager, and as such I didn't pay too much attention to skincare. I used an eclectic combination of whichever basic drugstore skincare was currently on offer and went on my life. Sure I had the occasional break out here and there, but it was never anything serious - never anything that didn't pass in a few days. My elder brother on the other hand, did have acne as a teenager, and low and behold the genes finally caught up with me in my twenties.

Exploring Paris & French Skincare with La Roche-Posay | Advertorial

Tuesday, 1 March 2016

It wasn't until I developed adult acne, did I learn to appreciate good skincare. I'd always had relatively good skin, even throughout my teens and seemed to avoid that 'life ending' puberty led onslaught of acne. Of course I had the odd blemish here and there, but never anything too extreme.

Growing up with a single mother who didn't care much for makeup, skincare or beauty products, I learnt through trial and error, and women's magazines which skincare products to use. Needless to say, I picked up a few terrible beauty care tips... (Does anyone else shudder with horror at the thought of putting toothpaste on  breakouts and baby powder in their hair now?)

Hello Again...

em ford, my pale skin, blogger, mypaleskinblog

Hello... It's me.

I was wondering if after all this time - you'd like to read...

So here we are, It's March 2016 and I'm not even going to pretend that sitting in front of a blank page and trying to find the right words to type is easy, because I'm so out of touch it's certainly far from it.

I never intended for this blog to become a long lost beauty graveyard, but over the past year, somehow that's the way it seems to have turned out.
