'No Make up' Make Up.
Wednesday, 5 February 2014
Here's a quick 'no make up' make up 'FOTD' look I wore last week. It's what I call the...
'I literally just rolled out of bed and look like this' errm, look!
I really liked how this was at the time on my face, but looking back a few days later, I think this could definitely do with a teeny bit of mascara on the bottom lashes.
Also, based on your feedback, I think i'm going to try and recreate this with a brown mascara. get it looking a bit more natural.
Here's the all important product list for this look
- Moisturiser - Nivea Cream
- Primer - Benefit Porefessional
- Foundation - Mac Studio Fix fluid - NC15
- Concealer - Mac studio Fix NC15 / Illamasqua concealer 115
- Blush - Bourjois Paris - Rose
- Bronze - Bourjois Paris 52 Bronzer
- Eyeshadow - Naked Basics
- Mascara - Bourjois Paris - Ultra Black Clubbing XXL
- Eyebrows - Sleek Palette LIGHT
- Lips - Body Shop Born Lippy, Pomegranate Lip Balm
Beauty Boxes
This week I signed up to my first beauty box!
Ahhhh it's so exciting. I've been researching beauty boxes online over the past few weeks, and decided not to do it as I didn't think it was great value for money, I didn't think I'd use any of the products that they send and I thought i'd be totally disappointed.
Then I started to think about it a little more, the idea was firmly planted in my mind. I already have a Graze box subscription that I buy for the BF and get delivered to his work every week, even though I think graze box can be a bit hit or miss. The thing about Graze boxes are you never know what you'll get, everything is edible (hurrah!) and healthy (hurrah!) and most of the time, tastes really good.
When I reeeeally thought about it, I had a revelation... (just go with it...) Beauty Boxes are just Graze boxes for your face! Yep, it's that simple. The point is, you're meant to be trying new things that you wouldn't necessarily just pick up off the shelf, it'll give you a glimpse of new brands, and different products and hopefully the products may be good for your skin too.
So that's it. I've signed up, I'm excited and impatient and waiting for my first Beauty Box to arrive between 10th-20th Feb.
Under £5! MUA Make Up Academy Eye shadow trio 'Pink Sorbet' REVIEW
Tuesday, 4 February 2014
Hey there! I'm back with another £5 and under review! Today I'm going to be talking about MUA Make Up Academy Eye Shadow Trio in 'Pink Sorbet'
Now unfortunately I dived straight in and started playing with the product before I had a chance to take a photo of it clean. Sometimes I just can't help myself and I was way way too excited to try this product after hearing so much about it.
Here are the all important details.
- MUA Make up Academy Eyeshadow Trio Pink Sorbet
- Price: 2.50
- Shop: Superdrug
- Website: http://www.superdrug.com/mua-professional/mua-eyeshadow-trio-pink-sorbet/invt/267664
First things first, let's swatch them.
My first impression off the back of the swatch was 'whaaaaaaaat?' I honestly did not expect the colours to be so pigmented. I mean like, this is an eye shadow trio that costs £2.50! The swatches were just one swipe each. I would usually expect to may ££ for an eyeshadow that looks this good straight out of the pan. Great expectations for this straight away.
Let's see how they look!
Holy crap. These shadows are good. I think I'm in love. The powders themselves are quite hard, they're not creamy or soft shadows, but even still I can't believe how easy they are the apply, how strong the colours are, and how shimmery and lovely they look. The pinks go perfectly with my skin tone, and the the shades all blend in well together. They're a perfect mix of soft, shimmer and fresh romantic pinks.
The only downside is the foam applicator is crap. Really crap, so I recommend using an eyeshadow brush and a nice big fluffy brush for blending. I think these are a fantastic buy for £2.50 and I'm going to be hunting for another 1 or 2 as a backup for my drawers in case I ever run out.
